The digestive system and heart are connected through nerves, hormones, inflammation, and the immune system. These include cases involving hiatal hernias, reflux disease, excessive gas, and other gastrointestinal conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The authors also highlight a major challenge facing patients: Roemheld Syndrome remains poorly recognized, and many people undergo extensive cardiac testing before the digestive system is considered as a possible contributor to their symptoms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Key takeaway<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The article argues that the heart and digestive system should not always be viewed as separate entities.
